• How far away are the beaches ? Calgary beach is 10 minuates away by car, there are some beaches closer to Penmore which can be reach by foot 10 - 15 minutes walk
• How far is Penmore from the nearest village? Dervaig is 3 miles away and has a paper shop / coffee and books shop,a groceries shop and Post office.
• How far from the ferry terminal and how long does it take to drive to Penmore ? It takes me 35 minutes allow 45 minutes, distance 25 miles.
• Can we hire a car on the island? yes from Craignure or Tobermory
• Are the midges bad on Mull? Depends on the weather wet humid warm weather could encourage midges, midges don't like hot weather or windy weather, you are less likely to find midges in town. If midges bother you use midge cream.
• Can we hire bikes? Visitors to Penmore get use of 6 mountain bikes
• Are there good places to eat? Yes lots and we can keep you informed of what place suits you best
• How far is Oban from Glasgow? Its 98 miles check out our milage chart for other major towns and cities
• Fishing ? Big subject - we can put you in contact with the right people depending on what type of fishing you want to do
• Golf? Yes bring your clubs and enjoy the spectacular cliff top course above tobermory, Golf course at Craignure also.
• Is there a Telephone installed in Penmore? No telephone in the house - everyone comes with mobile phones these days. Vodaphone works best and has good coverage
• Whats the Mobile phone reception like? First class reception for Vodaphone and BT cell net, other net works are not so good
• Wild life trips? yes there are lots of wildlife tourism operaters -+ free Eagles nest viewing hide, there is a Falcanry,- its not unusual to see Eagles, Otters, and, or Red Dear from the car.
